First tomato of 2009

I have had mixed results growing tomatoes for the past 9 years. Whatever I did this year worked best. I just wish I knew what I did that was different. Maybe more compost helped.

The cherry and grape tomato plants deliver a few ripe fruit each day. The larger tomatoes ripen more slowly, and I must pick the fruit before the birds get it.

I HATE BIRDS.

Anyway, here is my first full-sized tomato of the year. Yum!
